Our Story

Legacy Theater & Music Company began as a simple dream: a place where people of all ages could discover their voice, explore their creativity, and find a genuine sense of belonging. What started as a small vision in 2020 has grown into one of Union County’s most vibrant and welcoming community theaters and music studios.
From our home in the Monroe–Stallings area of Union County, Legacy quickly became a gathering place for performers, students, and families who share a passion for storytelling and connection. Over the years, we have expanded to offer productions for adults, teens, kids, and mixed-age ensembles, along with private lessons and group classes for artists at every skill level. Whether someone is stepping onstage for the first time or refining their craft, Legacy provides not just training and performance opportunities—but a creative home.
Our mainstage musical productions have earned acclaim for their artistry and heart, with standout titles such as Alice By Heart, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Godspell, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Sweeney Todd, and Seussical the Musical. We are also known for reimagining Shakespeare’s works with fresh concepts, accessible storytelling, and diverse casting that invites audiences of all backgrounds into the classics.

For young performers, Legacy proudly produces ensemble-focused Broadway Junior shows, including Beetlejuice Jr., Matilda Jr., Finding Nemo Jr., and Into the Woods Jr. These productions highlight the collaboration, confidence, and creativity we aim to nurture in every student. Each year, our Junior Theater Festival Troupe represents Union County at JTF Atlanta—performing for Broadway professionals, attending workshops, and earning recognition for excellence and teamwork.
As our community grows, so does our vision. Legacy is actively working toward establishing a larger, permanent home—one that can support even more programming, rehearsal space, and opportunities for artistic growth. Despite our expansion, we remain deeply committed to accessibility and affordability, maintaining some of the lowest tuition rates in Union County and offering scholarships to students in need.
At the heart of Legacy is a dedication to building something meaningful, lasting, and full of heart. Jessica Forwerck founded Legacy Theater & Music Company in loving memory of her grandparents, Charles and Elaine Goslee, whose unwavering belief in her artistic journey shaped the foundation of our values. Legacy was also created with her children in mind—a living example of pursuing dreams with purpose, courage, and compassion.

Today, Jessica leads Legacy alongside her husband and co-director, Jacob Forwerck. Together, they are committed to nurturing a space where families can connect, creativity can flourish, and every individual feels welcome, supported, and inspired.
Legacy is more than a theater—it is a community built on love for the arts, belief in people, and the power of creating something beautiful together.
Here, we create. Here, we learn. Here, we belong.
