 JTF Intensive Workshop & Audition

At Legacy, we believe in Create • Learn • Belong — and this intensive reflects all three.

This JTF Intensive Workshop & Audition is designed to mirror the pace, focus, and stamina required for Junior Theater Festival adjudication work while fostering a supportive, ensemble-driven environment where students are encouraged to grow.

Participants will learn music and choreography in the same day, explore multiple dance styles, and experience a mock adjudication by the end of the workshop.

This is a focused, high-energy environment for performers who are excited to challenge themselves, work collaboratively, and take meaningful steps forward as artists.

Important Notes

We are not looking for perfection.

We are looking for students who are willing to try, take direction, show up with effort, and grow.

This process is about discovering who is ready to commit, who can work well on a team, and who is excited to be part of an ensemble-based process.

• This intensive is part of the official JTF audition and selection process

• Auditions will take place through the intensive and continue immediately following

• Placement decisions will consider performance across the entire intensive and audition process

• The work explored during this intensive will directly influence which show/piece we select to take to JTF

Throughout the intensive and audition, we will be observing:

• Work ethic

• Focus and behavior

• Ability to take direction

• Stamina

• Growth mindset

• Skill level

This is a team- and ensemble-based production.

We are looking for effort, growth, and overall compatibility with the group.

We want this to be a fun workshop and a great experience, while also recognizing that it is a privilege to attend a festival like JTF, perform for professional adjudicators, and learn in this environment.

At Legacy, our goal is to push and challenge students while supporting them in becoming the best they can be. We believe every student is capable of excellence — and we will push toward that excellence.

After Auditions & Casting

Rehearsals: Rehearsals will be held biweekly on Saturdays following casting. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be sent after auditions. Rehearsals will be laid out loosely through the remainder of this year and tentatively through the new year leading up to JTF in January 2027.

If You Are Not Selected as a Performer - If you are not selected as one of the performers, you are still welcome to attend JTF with Legacy and participate in workshops, events, and festival experiences — just not as a performer in the adjudicated piece.

Fees for Anyone Attending JTF with Legacy (performers, chaperones, parents, friends, directors, etc.): Everyone attending must pay:
$350 Festival Entrance Fee
$100 Legacy Commitment Fee

All fees must be paid prior to receiving a casting offer (if offered a spot).

Why JTF?
The Junior Theater Festival (JTF) is the world’s largest celebration of young people performing musical theater. Our Legacy troupe will:
-  Perform and receive feedback from Broadway professionals
- Attend workshops and watch performances from other groups across the country
-Meet artists and educators from Broadway and beyond.

This is a life-changing experience, and we are honored to walk this journey with our Legacy family.
